The school is organized as part of the activities of SUPERTROUT, a European project adopting an innovative approach to control lactococcosis in small-scale farming systems for trout production, mainly based on exploitation of natural genetic resistance of trout through marker assisted selection; development of recombinant vaccine to be administered by immersion; improvement of reproductive performances exploiting trout genetic features.
Starting from the specific activities of the project, the school will give an overview on general topics of importance for aquaculture: pathogens, disease management, genetic resistance to infectious diseases, immunology and vaccines, antibiotic resistance.
