This NRL is part of a EU network, ruled by the EURL animal proteins in feed, CRA-W, Wallonie, Gembloux, Belgium, www. eurl.craw.eu

The tasks of NRLs are listed in the Art. 100 of Regulation EU 625/2017. In particular, the NRL-AP focuses its mission on:

- production of samples for Proficiency Testing for its relevant Official laboratories, and organizing a       yearly  workshop to discuss the results and the topics examined during the EURL AP annual workshop
- providing assistance to the Competent Authority and to the Official laboratories in its field of activities
- organizing training courses for the Official laboratories

The presence of animal proteins in feed can be detected according to the official detection methods, which lay down in Regulation (EU) 51/2013. Microscopy inspection focuses on the presence of bone fragments, muscle fibres, hairs, feather filaments, fish bones, blood particles. RT-PCR detects ruminant DNA. EURL AP SOPs (Standard Operative Procedures) are binding and have to applied in both methods (http://eurl.craw.eu/index.php?page=1879 ).

Questo LNR è parte del network europeo di LNR, facenti capo al EURL animal proteins in feed, CRA-W, Wallonie, Gembloux, Belgium, www. eurl.craw.eu.

I compiti dei LNR sono riportati nell’Articolo 100 del Regolamento (UE) 625/2017. In particolare, l’attività di questo LNR è focalizzata su:

-        Preparazione annuale del Proficiency Test per i Laboratori Ufficiali della Rete IZS, ICQRF, e ISS

-       Organizzazione del workshop annuale per i Laboratori Ufficiali della Rete IZS, ICQRF, e ISS, per       riportare e discutere sulle informazioni ricevute durante il workshop per i LNR organizzato dal             EURL AP.

-       Fornire assistenza all’Autorità competente (Ministero, Regioni, ASL) e ai Laboratori Ufficiali

-       Organizzare corsi di aggiornamento e formazione per i laboratori Ufficiali

Le metodiche Ufficiali per la rilevazione della presenza dei costituenti di origine animale nei mangimi sono riportate nel Regolamento (UE) 51/2013.La tecnica in microscopia classica permette l’identificazione di frammenti ossei di animali terrestri e acquatici, fibre muscolari, piume, peli, sangue. La metodica in RT-PCR consente la determinazione del DNA di ruminante nei mangimi e nelle materie prime. Le SOP (Procedure Operative Standard) del EURL AP sono vincolanti per entrambe le metodiche e sono pubblicate sul sito dell’EURL AP (http://eurl.craw.eu/index.php?page=1879 ).
